BENEFITS
boosts energy levels
May Improve your mood
Have you ever felt down or sad and thought to yourself, ‘I need a chocolate bar’ to cheer me up. Believe it or not, there’s a scientific reason to that! Cacao contains Serotonin and Anandamide, also known as the bliss molecule which stimulates the brain to create a sense of euphoria, talk about a natural way to feel happy!
heart and brain health
Raw Cacao contains Flavonols that help lower blood pressure and improve blood flow to the brain and heart by stimulating the production of nitric oxide in our bodies. Nitric oxide dilates our blood vessels and lowers blood pressure.
Improved cognitive function
A specific flavanol in cacao called epicatechin may help with some parts of brain health, including cognition, blood flow, and risk of dementia.
Highest source of iron in plants
Raw Cacao contains 7.3mg of iron per 100g, compared to beef and lamb at 2.5mg and spinach at 3.6mg. Without sufficient iron intake, your body won’t produce enough red blood cells to carry oxygen all throughout your body.
Safe for kids
All our Superfood powders are tested and are safe for kids to enjoy! Everything about our products are 100% natural. What better way to make food that is not only nutritious but colourful and fun for the kids.
cacao vs cocoa
Despite coming from the same plant, it comes down to how both are processed. Raw Cacao is a less refined version of Cocoa (what they use for chocolate) and is processed at low temperatures. It is then milled into powder, retaining its nutrient dense qualities, gaining it a Superfood status.
Cocoa however, is processed at high heat and looses most of its nutritional value in the process. Cocoa powder is often added with sugar, oil, or dairy to enhance and sweeten the taste.
Pro Tips
Cacao powder is very similar to Cocoa powder in flavour and usage. Cacao however, is a lot more nutritious and isn't as sweet.
